1. Do you charge for the initial consultation?

No, the initial design consultation is complimentary and is an opportunity for both parties to meet and evaluate the scope of work, review the designer’s portfolio, and discuss the forward process. D3 will come to your home or business and work with you to outline your interior design needs and goals.

2. How do you charge for your services?

We charge and hourly design fee, which covers time spent on the design concepts, site measures and surveys, concept drawings, detail drawings, storyboards and sourcing of all products required to obtain relevant budget prices. The fee works on a sliding scale, based on the number of hours estimated for the project.We charge a project management fee on the items ordered through D3, which is usually a small percentage of the total value of the project. Time is spent on co-ordinating deliveries and generally ensuring that the whole process runs smoothly until the items are delivered/installed. The project management fee covers the entire process and assures the clients’ peace of mind.

3. Do I have to use a designer’s services for everything, or just as needed?

D3 are happy to work with you as a consultant and you can either use us for the entire process, or simply consulting and advice, allowing you to make your own purchases. However, we find that most clients often have busy lives and schedules and do not choose to deal with the aggravation of dealing with sub-contractors. D3 provide the invaluable service of scheduling and co-ordinating a project so it runs flawlessly.

4. What size projects does D3 accept?

D3 accept any size project. We gladly accommodate all budgetary concerns and want to make good interior design affordable. Many of our clients like to start with one or two rooms to try out our services and ensure that we can meet their goals on a smaller based project before moving onto larger scale commitments. We pride ourselves on the good and long-standing relationships that we have established with our clients.

5. Do you work with any particular style(s)?

D3 do not specialize in any single interior design style. We work with many different styles and prefer to help each client create their own signature style. Styles vary from contemporary to eclectic, modern to traditional; we assist clients in transforming their interiors into something well-planned with attention to detail, all in the client’s own style.

6. Why do I need an interior designer if I already have an architect?

Architects and interior designers work very differently. Most architects work with structure and building design, and prefer not to work with details of interiors. Designers can create a master plan for the interior of your entire home or office, which can be implemented in stages, as your budget allows. The ideal design team consists of both an architect and an interior designer in order to cover all aspects of your internal and external spaces.
